About Me

Brad Hyland is a photographer and National Geographic contributor who grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. His passion for the outdoors was spurred from his family. More often than not, a family vacation entailed climbing mountains, camping, or backpacking through National Parks.

Brad has a unique perspective of the outdoors as he not only spends his free time exploring the areas around him but also studied Environmental Science while at Carthage College. He is particularly fascinated by birds and their incredible plumage and habits. Each bird species is truly unique and with his hundreds of ID's across the US, Europe, and Central America, he believes birds are one of the most unique animals on the planet.

Brad is currently based in Berkeley, California, and is enjoying the married life, the weather, and the ability to shoot almost every day.
